Ah man, if only I was in New York.

Never saw or heard anything about opportunities and I am one of the top 20 wedding stores in volume. So I am assuming it must be some of their local employees that also have wedding shops

Aww, and it's on my girlfriend's birthday too! I'd be there, but that's when my new baby nephew's due, so I'll be far too busy for a trip down to the city!

This is such a great idea for an event as so many couples are coming to Etsy to plan their weddings. And while I'm not in the NY area and appreciate the fact that Etsy wants to ensure a high-quality event, I think it's unfortunate that the vendors have been hand-selected. I hope you consider an application process for wedding vendors here on Etsy in the future and consider expanding the event to other cities.

This is a wonderful idea, bringing buyers and sellers together in person! Not planning a wedding at the moment, but I'm looking forward to more Etsy shopping events in the future.

There are some great wedding sellers and wedding-inspired items on Etsy. It is always a joy to browse this when one has time. I am sure this event will be very succesful. Best of luck! (I wish I could be there too).

Not happy about the ethics of hand selection of vendors without even an opportunity to apply... who exactly do you have to bribe or be related to in order to participate?

Thank you everyone for your kind words! To answer a few questions: You can register for tickets here: etsy.com/wedding-event. The vendor list for many of our hosted events is hand-selected by Etsy Admin who consider seasonal, cultural and lifestyle trends that fit within our theme. As always, the team looks for ingenuity, well-made items, interesting descriptions, and top-notch photos. Limited space and time at our events means we can't include everyone, every time, but we always make sure we are highlighting a range of sellers across categories, regions and price points.

Is there any type of advertising available (e.g. printed materials that will be given to the attendees) for those vendors who will not be featured? Thanks!

That's so fantastic!!! I SOOOOOO wish I could be there and have my etsy bridal boutique represented, but I am on the opposite coast. I've always loved the bridal shows I've participated in. It's such a great chance to meet the brides and grooms in person and make great connections that you don't get to make through emails. If it goes well maybe there will be a plan one for a San Francisco event. (A girl can hope.) Wouldn't that be awesome! I would be there with bells on to meet all those brides and grooms in person. Congrats on making this happen! I look forward to hearing how it went. I hope you'll come back and tell us all about it.

When will this be happening in Los Angeles?! My sister is getting married in a couple of years and we'd love to patronize Etsy vendors and we'd LOVE even more to see some of the goods in person.

Not only is Etsy a one-stop shop but you can be sure an Etsy Wedding will be the perfect mix of beauty, unusual ideas and a couple's very own personalized style.
