My daughter just had her big day - and when people ask me how it went, I tell them to imagine everything about a traditional wedding -- well she did the exact opposite. From the Chucks and lollipop bouts worn by the groomsmen; to the big lollipop bouquets and satin ribbons on the wrists worn by the bridesmaids. Guests were seated and given their programs - while love songs from the 50's played in the background; they were kept entertained by reading "this day in history" on the back (of course this day in history ended with their wedding taking place). The bride entered to the tune from "The Princess Bride" and the recessional danced out to "I've had the time of my life" from Dirty Dancing (including a cartwheel by the officiant). People were taken by surprise when during the reception the bride came out wearing a short dress identical to that of the bridesmaids but in ivory. Cakes were used as centerpieces and the wedding cake was topped off with bobble heads of the bride and groom. A great time was had by all - while the photo booth projected on a side wall what was going on behind the curtin in the booth. Bridesmaids gathered to catch a "break apart" bouquet to their surprise more than one lady got a rose. This was the most original event I have ever witnessed.
