Crystal Gentilello co-founded Rue Magazine in 2010 as a way to bring fresh content to a rapidly growing online design community and serves as the magazine’s editor in chief. Considered a pioneer in digital publishing and an expert in new media, Crystal speaks regularly on topics about design, entrepreneurship, and social media and stands at the forefront of change as the relationship between publishing and the design industry evolves. She also writes interiors-driven content for her popular personal blog.

To celebrate the launch of Etsy’s Registry, we invited a few of our favorite tastemakers to share items they would choose for their own registry. Today, we are pleased to welcome Crystal Gentilello, editor in chief of Rue Magazine.

Weddings never cease to amaze and inspire me. I love the unpredictable moments: a groom’s tear-jerking vows or an uncle unexpectedly dancing to Katy Perry. In the midst of planning the event and making such a big change in their lives, they most likely will not have had time to focus on their new home. Wedding gifts can truly set them in the right direction, helping them put together the perfect home for both daily life and the many memorable moments to come. Rue is all about finding design inspiration, so I have selected pieces that will both serve the couple and add a little whimsy.

A great wedding present doesn’t have to just be functional. Some of the most exciting gifts are those unique gems that will transform a table or bookshelf from plain to stylish. Pillows and throws can really set the tone for a welcoming space, perfect for entertaining or relaxing.

Part practical, part decorative, these incredible pieces will be an instant hit with the happy couple. These two lamps are a foolproof way of bringing an artistic touch to home decor.

Newlyweds are big entertainers and will be welcoming loved ones into their home. Leave the blenders and toasters for the other friends and relatives. Etsy has an array of stunningly unique kitchen items. Many of them are customizable, so if that particular piece isn’t the right color, have it made in another hue.
