To celebrate the launch of Etsy’s Registry, we invited a few of our favorite tastemakers to share items they would choose for their own registry. Today, we are pleased to welcome Celestine Maddy, founder and publisher of Wilder Quarterly, a publication that speaks to contemporary growers and outdoor enthusiasts.
Growing isn’t precious and neither is nature. It’s messy, sweaty, wild and fun. In this collection for Etsy, I’ve selected items I think exemplify all of these ideas, whether that means enjoying a long walk through Chicago with a pair of awesome binoculars, or spectacularly lighting up your Austin backyard for a late night garden party. Any which way, I hope you have a good time.
Getting in the dirt should be fun. Don’t worry about getting grubby – you always clean up later. And just because you don’t have a yard or even a fire escape doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy nature. Bring the plants indoors or go nature-spotting on a busy city street.
I love it when sun rays light up gold or brass, be it on a wrist or tucked amongst flowers in a garden.
Whether it’s a quiet dinner in the backyard or a full-on garden party, the right lighting helps to set the mood. A dress covered in blossoms is the perfect finishing touch.

I love this idea. Gardens are such a nice place to be. There is so many great ways to have a garden. From a full blown out yard with every sort of plant imaginable to a simple series of pots on your doorstep. Nature is wonderful and we all need more of it.
