Collaborations bring out the best, right? And together, the UK’s number one beauty box, Birchbox, and Etsy have created something really special – a summer collection of one-off packaging designed by ten talented UK Etsy sellers. Every subscriber will receive their August gift in one of these beauties, chosen at random, along with a 15% off voucher for the seller’s Etsy shop. They’re a feast for the eyes and the feel-good contents please mind, body and soul. Win, win! In the last of our instalments, we’re showcasing our seller’s beautiful work. Let’s hear it for Amber’s Textiles, Constance and Clay, Jade Fisher and The Fox in the Attic.

Amber’s Textiles

Hello there Mr Sloth! Take it slow and easy and have a proper pamper session with the contents of Amber Davenport’s flourishing Birchbox design. Manchester-based artist Amber creates verdant prints, stationery and homeware inspired by nature. “I’ve combined my love for animals and folklore for this project,” says Amber. “It’s a mix of vibrant patterns and jungle creatures, which have been inspired by my interest in botanical gardens and nature books.” Beyond its Birchbox use, this box would look right at home in the nursery or kid’s room, filled with found treasures to let their imagination soar.

Constance and Clay

Southampton-based illustrator and graphic designer, Holly Dinsdale, channels Matisse with a whole lotta texture for her Birchbox design. Holly is passionate about running her eco-friendly businesses consciously, and her love of the natural world shines through her work. She says, “In this instance I wanted to portray a garden in full bloom on a hot summer’s day – pure escapism!” Paired with Birchbox’s treats, it’s a knockout package to transport you to another place for a while – your own little day spa.

Jade Fisher

“It’s a small and simple act,” says Cardiff-based illustrator Jade,”but putting on your favourite lipstick or sitting back with a face mask and good girl talk can make you feel ready to take on the world!” We quite agree. Jade decided to celebrate the power, and fun, of female friendship in her Birchbox design, based on a portrait of her and her best friend. Did you know you can order Birchbox surprises for your pals, too? It makes a great gift – people are so appreciative of permission to take some time out.

The Fox in the Attic

Michelle Kreussel’s painted ice creams and biscuits take the August Birchbox to a whole new level of ‘treat’! This decadent and delicious design is inspired by the ice cream baby rattles Michelle makes for her Etsy shop. “They ended up being so popular that I decided to create some more ‘edible’ rattles, and so the biscuits joined the collection,” she says. “I created my pattern using the ice creams and biscuits mainly because they are simply so colourful and make me really happy!” A joyous package for joyous contents, we’re sure you’ll agree.

That completes our showcase of the August Birchbox collection! See our previous round-ups here and here – which one are you hoping for?
