The Small Print

Full eligibility criteria for each category can be found at Etsyawards.com/uk but key things to consider include:

  • Your shop must have an About Page and all items must comply with Etsy Guidelines and Etsy Seller Guidelines.
  • You can only enter your Etsy shop once – this means submitting one item under one product category (Home & Interiors, Fashion & Accessories OR Kids & Baby). As well as this submitted item, we will be judging your Etsy shop as a whole, so make sure it’s looking good with plenty of listings and your About page is up to date.
  •  If you create ‘one off’ items, please ensure that you have similar items listed in your Etsy shop for the duration of the competition. You’ll need to recreate the item (or similar) if you are a finalist.
  • Your entry must be submitted via the online entry form by midnight on Thursday 28th April 2016. You must have items listed in your shop from date of entry until 31 October 2016. Your shop must be active from when you submit your entry and until the end of the Etsy Awards campaign on 31 October 2016.
  • If you outsource any part of your production process, successful finalists must have filled out an application and had their outside manufacturer approved by our team of Maker Specialists. You can read more about this here.
  • You must be able to deliver 1-3 selected products for the Etsy Awards Winners’ showcase at Tent London during the London Design Festival by 1 September 2016. Etsy will select products, curate and manage the exhibit. It is not compulsory for sellers to attend in person. Sellers must have stock of the selected products listed in their Etsy shop.
  • All applicants will be automatically considered for the Regional awards (best maker in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern ireland, Republic of Ireland).

Terms and conditions apply: UK & ROI only, 18+. Closes 23.59pm 28.4.16.

Wow this looks amazing :D On your forum to fill in it says "What is the title of the item you are submitting?" Does this mean we can only submit 1 product then? Not our shop as a whole? On your 'Small Print' it states that we must be able to deliver 1-3 selected products for the Etsy Award Winners' showcase at Tent London. Little confused will you only be looking at the 1 product that we fill out in the form? Not our shop as a whole? We have over 400 products with a lot more that we are currently designing. So could you just clarify :) Thank you Tija

Thanks for getting in touch and for your interest in the Etsy Awards! We’re excited to see your application. We will indeed be judging based on each seller’s shop as a whole. We have asked you to submit one item to represent your work so that, if you are shortlisted as one of our finalists, we have an image ready for the public vote. Hope that helps!

Hi Sarah, I have tried to enter twice now via the online form and it won't submit. Any advice?

    • Sarah Sandiford said 3 years ago

Hey there! Sorry to hear that you were having problems earlier, everything should now be running smoothly for you to apply :)

Just a quick question. I am thinking about getting my hands into a new project that is slightly different from what I am doing now at GattiShop. I will be opening a new store for that reason. Am I therefore allowed to enter the competition twice - with one item from each shop? Many thanks! Gatti

    • Sarah Sandiford said 3 years ago

Hi there! If you have more than one Etsy shop (selling different items) you can enter the Awards once per shop. Hope this helps!

Sorry if this comment is duplicated... I noticed that my previous one has not come up in this thread. My question was can clothing designers of one off items enter this competition?

    • Sarah Sandiford said 3 years ago

Hi there! Yes, you are more than welcome to enter the Etsy Awards. If you make it through to the competition, we will be directing people back to your Etsy shop, which is why we’re keen for you to have a few additional items featured - or alternately, if there’s an option where people can order a similar custom item. Hope this helps!

I sell mainly cards and prints. Can I only enter the prints because of the categories on offer ie Home and Decor?

    • Sarah Sandiford said 3 years ago

Hi there, you are more than welcome to submit your pieces to whichever category you prefer, whether this be 'kids and babies' or 'homes and interiors'. Please be aware that you are only able to submit your Etsy shop under one category. Hope this helps!

Can you enter if you sell digital files? For example wedding invitations? Also, I see it said 'kids and baby section', there is no section for this when I list an item.

    • Sarah Sandiford said 3 years ago

Hi there, thanks for your comment! You can enter the awards if you create and sell digital awards. If you click on to the awards application website here, you can submit your item under the kids and babies section if you scroll down :)

I applied for all three of my shops before the deadline, which showed as submitted, but never received a conformation email. Since I haven't had any views related to the award I guess I wasn't entered. Really disappointed. :0(

Were we supposed to receive confirmation emails that you received our Entries? Neither of our Shops (this one & our AWDesignsUK shop) received a confirmation email. :( Hope they went through, on the page when we entered it said they went through but no confirmation email (checked junk too)
