The Small Print

Full eligibility criteria for each category can be found at Etsyawards.com/uk but key things to consider include:

  • Your shop must have an About Page and all items must comply with Etsy Guidelines and Etsy Seller Guidelines.
  • You can only enter your Etsy shop once – this means submitting one item under one product category (Home & Interiors, Fashion & Accessories OR Kids & Baby). As well as this submitted item, we will be judging your Etsy shop as a whole, so make sure it’s looking good with plenty of listings and your About page is up to date.
  •  If you create ‘one off’ items, please ensure that you have similar items listed in your Etsy shop for the duration of the competition. You’ll need to recreate the item (or similar) if you are a finalist.
  • Your entry must be submitted via the online entry form by midnight on Thursday 28th April 2016. You must have items listed in your shop from date of entry until 31 October 2016. Your shop must be active from when you submit your entry and until the end of the Etsy Awards campaign on 31 October 2016.
  • If you outsource any part of your production process, successful finalists must have filled out an application and had their outside manufacturer approved by our team of Maker Specialists. You can read more about this here.
  • You must be able to deliver 1-3 selected products for the Etsy Awards Winners’ showcase at Tent London during the London Design Festival by 1 September 2016. Etsy will select products, curate and manage the exhibit. It is not compulsory for sellers to attend in person. Sellers must have stock of the selected products listed in their Etsy shop.
  • All applicants will be automatically considered for the Regional awards (best maker in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern ireland, Republic of Ireland).

Terms and conditions apply: UK & ROI only, 18+. Closes 23.59pm 28.4.16.

On reading through the application form I understood that you submit one item. Am I correct in assuming we are limited to submitting one application per shop or per user? I can't seem to find anything in the T&Cs..

    • Sarah Sandiford said 353 days ago

Hi Anna, that is correct - you can only enter your Etsy shop once, choosing one category. We require you to submit the one item, but your shop will also be judged as a whole. Hope this helps!

Hi, I too have tried to submit my application but the "submit" button is not working. I have tried it on a PC, laptop and my mobile. I think the link to sent has not be hyperlinked to the submit button! ?

    • Sarah Sandiford said 353 days ago

Hey there! We will be judging on both :) your submitted item and your shop as a whole - hope this helps!

I was going to enter but it says "Sellers must have stock of the selected products listed in their Etsy shop.". Most of my items are unique (especially ones I'd enter into a competition) so if they sell they're gone, where as this suggests it's for items which there are multiple of available. Am I reading that correctly?

    • Sarah Sandiford said 353 days ago

Hey there! Apologies for the confusion - the reason this was stated was because if your shop makes it through the competition, we will direct people through to your shop, that is why we are keen for you to have other items available or have an option where people can order a similar custom item. We hope this helps.

Hey there! We're keen for designers across all categories to apply, we'd love for Home & Living to include lifestyle products so this category would work for you - hope this helps :)

Hi, this sounds amazing! I design and make wedding stationery. Just wondering if I would be eligible to enter? And if so what category?

Kerry could you change the listing of one of your products, eg. list your 'sip sip hooray' wine tag under weddings for the home & living category for the duration of the competition? I'm not part of Etsy at all so I don't know for sure but that seems like a way you could get around it.

  • Polskadotty

Kerry from Polskadotty said 353 days ago

Thanks Jennifer, I was wondering about that. It's just one product to enter, this is my most popular, but not sure where it would fit under Home and Living... https://www.etsy.com/uk/your/shops/Polskadotty/tools/Polskadotty/uk/listings/sort:title,page:2,stats:true/262989170 Hmmm

Hey there, we're sorry to hear you are having issues! When applying for the Etsy Awards, each box needs to be filled in - for those that don't require an answer please type n/a. Hope this helps!

Hi, I'm also wondering if it's just one item and when it says "in stock" can it be made to order? Most of my items are made to order...

    • Sarah Sandiford said 353 days ago

Hi there, yes of course. If your product makes it through the competition, we'll will be directing people back to your shop which is why we're keen for you to have a few additional items featured on your shop, or if there's an option where people can order a similar custom item. Hope this helps!
