Etsy Business School at The WI Centennial Fair

With a week to go until we hold the Etsy Business School at The WI Centennial Fair, we wanted to give you a bit more information at some of the events we’ll be running across the four days.

The Etsy Business School will be the go-to area for anyone interested in setting up or growing their handmade business. We’ll have a bunch of great people on hand throughout the weekend to give you the basic tools needed to start making money from your hobby. Whether you’re an existing Etsy seller, or are new to us, we’ll have something for everyone.

Photography Skills

Join us for our photography session run by Etsy admin. This speedy photography lesson will review different techniques and easy set ups you can do in your own kitchen. If you’re in need of some top tips for photography then don’t miss this great opportunity.

We’re lucky to have the talented designer-maker Alice Tams from Birds In Hats speaking about her experience of selling on Etsy. How she got started selling the items she makes on Etsy.com, what’s worked and what’s not gone as she’d planned. Join the session to learn from her advice about how to get your own creations out into the world.

Etsy Teams

In this session your can learn more about Etsy Teams, a community feature on Etsy where you can connect with other members. Sara Jane, leader of the Wales Team of Etsy shop owners, will be hosting this session and telling you all about their group, what they have coming up and how you can join them.

Full Schedule

– 11am: What is Etsy? Join Etsy admin to learn about the vibrant community of makers from all over the world who show off their hand made items on Etsy.

– 12pm: Join an Etsy Team. Meet Sarah Jane, leader of the Wales group of Etsy shop owners. She’ll tell you all about the group, what they have coming up, and how you can join them.

– 2pm: Setting up a successful business. Hear how a talented crafter got started selling the items she makes on Etsy.com and learn from her advice about how to get your own creations out in the world.

– 3pm: Taking beautiful product photography. Meet with Etsy admin to learn the best way to photograph your crafts at home. Review different techniques and easy set ups you can do in your own kitchen.
