What’s normally a jam-packed month filled with weddings, summer holidays and picnics (when it’s not raining of course), should you get a spare moment then here are my top five picks of things to do this month…
First up is the Isle of Wight annual Garlic Festival. Although I’ve never visited myself, I definitely thought it was worth a mention as I quite simply love garlic and I figured there were lots of other garlic lovers out there who would like to go too!
As I live in Camden, this was a no brainer. Taking place across the summer, Camden’s famed markets are staying open a little later than usual with DJ sets and tasty street food. Absolute bliss when all of the tourists will have moved on – plenty more space to explore! Read the full run-down here.
Whilst there, make sure to visit the Backyard Cinema where you can watch old movies all whilst enjoying a delicious Honest burger. For those have you that haven’t heard of Honest Burger, I can safely say that in my opinion this is the best burger in London.
Edinburgh Fringe is a must-do every year. An amazing arts festival in an incredible city that’s already bursting full of fun things to do. Why not stay in an Air BnB? There are so many beautiful ones dotted around.
Over the bank holiday weekend is Southsea’s (Portsmouth) Victorious Festival – it’s right by the seaside, looks super fun AND Basement Jaxx is playing – what more could you want? You can shop, you can eat and you can dance – tickets are still available but be quick!
If you’re in the Bristol area I highly recommend the Banksy Tour, see the sights of the city all and take in his incredible talent. Make sure to also head over to the Pear Cafe run by food writer Elly Curshen.
A last minute suggestion, but taking place right now is the Bristol Balloon Fiesta. An unmissable opportunity, if you’re not too far away be sure to look up into the sky and see the array of balloons in all shapes and sizes!
