Mother Nature calls you! If all things in the great outdoors get your creative juices going, you’ll be thrilled to hear that we’re teaming up with the Natural History Museum to offer designer-makers the opportunity to create new products inspired by their prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition.

Celebrating its 51st year, the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition is an opportunity for the world’s best nature photographers to exhibit their work. After global entries are submitted, an esteemed panel of experts select the winning photographer, whose works are displayed in the museum and in various outlets worldwide. We are excited to be working with the Natural History Museum in their quest to bring these winning photographs to life through everyday items in their shop – from mugs, to jewellery, to greeting cards.

CALLING ALL DESIGNER-MAKERS

We’re seeking talented designer-makers to apply for this exciting opportunity. If you think you would be inspired by the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at the Natural History Museum and would love to see your product stocked in their shop, read on for full application details…

Following the open call, selected Etsy sellers will be invited to a private viewing of the winning submission of the WPY-before this winner has even been announced to the public! Taking inspiration from the winning submission, sellers will have two weeks to create or design an item to be sold at the esteemed NHM gift shop. All of the successful designers’ “inspired by” products will appear in an Etsy display at the gift shop in time for the launch event of the WPY exhibit in October 2015! The display will live in NHM until April 2016, and will then have the chance to go ‘on tour’ for a further 12 months with the WPY exhibit.

Applying is simple because all we need is a link to your shop! Only successful applicants will be asked to design a new product.

· Price their product, and offer it to the NHM at a proper wholesale margin of at least 50% of retail price.

· Have an active Etsy shop (Don’t worry if you haven’t opened your shop yet! You can get 20 FREE listings when you open your shop for this opportunity. See details below…)

· Be in London, England on Tuesday 8th September 2015 to attend a private (and top secret!) viewing of the winning submissions for the Wildlife Photographer of the Year (so that you can create your piece inspired by the winning collection).
