This month, four Etsy sellers will be taking over space in West Elm’s Tottenham Court Road store selling accessories and treats inspired by, and created especially for, doggies. Of course, we immediately named this a Pup-Up shop, because, obviously.
The Etsy sellers taking part come from all over the UK and will include treats-for-your-pooch from:
Pup Tart Handmade is brought to you by former fashion buyer and textile design graduate Hannah and her dog Indy.
Working from their small studio in North London, they dye, print and stitch everything from dog bow ties and bandanas to their best-selling dog and cat tipi’s. Looking to make Indy a home, Hannah loved the idea of creating something different for Indy to call her own. The Tipi was born
“Every night Indy would take herself off to another room where it was dark and quiet. Now she’s hanging out right next to us in her tipi, sometimes you’ll hear signs of life or spot the odd paw sticking out. Needless to say Indy loves her tipi!”
Founded by craft development and retail expert Bee Friedmann and designer Amy Fleuriot, Hiro and Wolf was born out of a shared love for design, animals and sustainability. Amy and Bee met whilst walking their dogs Hiro and Wolf on London Fields in Hackney, London.
“Inspired by country walks and London living our cool dog collars and leads are extremely hard wearing, made using high quality fabric and fittings our pretty dog collars suit large and small breeds.
“Our pet accessories are handmade in the UK from the studio above our boutique, on East London’s famous Columbia Road Flower Market.”
“We specialise in designing and making products for ‘hound and home’. With a background in Furniture and Interiors and after the arrival of my Welsh Terrier Edwyn (named after my hero Edwyn Collins) the world of design collided with dog world and EdwynUK was born!
“I come from a family of artists and designers brought up in the countryside near the Lincolnshire Coast but have lived in London all my adult life. I wanted to incorporate my love of both country and city into a range of products for dogs, their owners and their homes.
“Everything is designed and made by hand in East London; made to be practical and fun and combine patterns and textures that I hope you like as much as I do!”
Beautiful illustrations from pugs to daschunds applied onto accessories and temporary tattoos.
“Working from my home studio in Winchester (with my furry studio assistant Meeko), I enjoy creating charming illustrations from pugs to daschunds applied onto accessories and temporary tattoos.”
At the Etsy Pup-Up, there’ll be 15% off in-store throughout the day and West Elm’s Market coffee bar will be serving drinks and nibbles for both owners and pooch with – get this – a PUPPY PHOTO BOOTH in store to shoot your pet in their new wares. Just THINKof the Instagram opportunities!
So swing by the West Elm shop – accompanying dog not a requirement for entry but certainly welcomed – on 18th July to snoop (all the) dog(gy items)! You could say it’s going to be the… ‘mutt’s nuts’! *snigger*
