Well, we’ve had a couple of really fab, sunny weeks! It’s turned back into our lovely English spring of teasing warm days alternating with plenty of rain and wind, but those few sun-soaked moments really got me inspired. My Pinterest boards are full of floral patterns and coral kissed colour studies. I can’t help but notice the delightful smell of lilac in the air, and it all just makes me want to dig into some new projects.
Lucky for me (and you!) the perfect opportunity to flex my crafty muscles is right around the corner. Etsy Craft Party is an annual get together, organised by Etsy and hosted by local creatives all around the world. It’s a great opportunity to meet the talented people in your neighbourhood and get stuck into a fun crafting project.
This year’s theme is Kaleidoscope and the project is paper weaving and collage. I’m loving the DIY project photos and have been looking around for images to use at my local Craft Party the first weekend in June.
Groups of Etsy sellers who are organised into Etsy Teams all over the UK have been prepping for this event. They’ve been finding venues, sending out invitations and getting together supplies. Toby from I Like Cats Shop and a leader with the Brighton Team says, “The theme of this year’s craft party is so versatile and we are bursting with ideas; everyone is able to join in and create something amazing, from simple collages to paper cutting and more.”
Craft Party is a great opportunity to meet up with creative people just like you in your local community. Mairi from Maram Jewellery and the Glasgow Team notes, “Most craft is solitary, so it’s amazing to get this chance to work with others, possibly learn a new skill and discover more about the craft community around you. And there’s cake!”
To indulge in an afternoon of cake, chat and craft, find the Craft Party nearest you.
