The London Design Festival is the highlight of the UK design calendar, where the world gathers to celebrate great craft and design. This year, Etsy makes its mark with a selling exhibition of cross-disciplinary contemporary craft on 24-27th September 2015, in partnership with  Crafts Council and Tent London.

We’re excited to announce Etsy in the UK: Four Corners of Craft – a maker development and exhibition project supported by arts and craft organisations in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

With a national reach, our prestigious lead partners include: London Design Festival, Tent LondonCrafts Council, Contemporary Applied Arts, The Design Trust, Craft Scotland, Creative Scotland, Craft NI, Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Helfa Gelf. What a line up! We’re also grateful for support from: Arts Council of Wales, Ruthin Craft Centre, The Makers’ Guild in Wales and many more incredible creative organisations around the UK.

‘Bringing together high-end craft from all UK regions is at the heart of what we do at CAA. Therefore we are delighted to partner with Etsy on The Four Corners of Craft.’ – Christiane Eck, Contemporary Applied Arts

From Inverness to Sussex and Belfast to Cardigan, the Etsy community is a highly talented group of designer-makers, creating beautiful contemporary craft across all areas of the UK. Selected via open call with the help of these national and regional arts organisations, we will unite over 40 of these makers in an exhibition to represent craft from the four corners of our country… what ties it all together is the quality of making.

Fiona Logue, Director of Craft Scotland says – ‘Craft Scotland is delighted to partner with Etsy in this inspirational new project. It will create opportunities for our makers and build new audiences for their work in this prestigious venue during London Design Festival. Etsy is a supportive and accessible route to market and their work assists our makers in developing their businesses’.

Here at Etsy, we don’t simply provide an online marketplace – we help our designer-makers to grow their creative businesses with genuinely supportive opportunities. The Four Corners of Craft exhibitors will benefit from accessible professional development training from the wonderful The Design Trust and signposting to local support services in the lead up to the exhibition. As the culmination of this maker development project, the exhibition will showcase their work and tell their stories.

Save the date to see their work in the creative hub of the London Design Festival alongside Tent London. Full exhibition details below.
