It’s fair to say Sarah Dawson, Deputy Editor of Perfect Wedding (the UK’s best-selling monthly wedding magazine) can sniff out a wedding trend at fifty paces. We asked her to share the BIG wedding trends for 2015 – over to Sarah:
A huge part of my role at Perfect Wedding is spotting up and coming wedding trends, and showing our readers how they can get the look for their big day.
Now more than ever couples are looking for ways to personalise their wedding, which is why DIY is such a huge part of planning. But in 2015 I predict a move towards quirkier, unexpected details playing a part, particularly in reception styling.
Rustic, festival-style weddings were huge in 2014, but in 2015, we predict a move towards a more luxe-hippie vibe for receptions (think Poppy Delevingne’s Moroccan nuptials) with plenty of sequins, bright colours and elegant chill-out areas.
Blush was hands-down THE colour of 2014, whether that was bridesmaids dresses, décor or flowers. Of course this go-to shade will never go out of bridal fashion (it is so goddam pretty after all) but for 2015 powder blue and greys will be everywhere.
Here are 5 of the biggest wedding trends for 2015 (plus, my pick of Etsy items to help you get the look)…
1. Sequins
The easiest way to inject some mega-watt glamour into your day is by embracing the sequin trend. Whether you dare to rock a gorgeous sparkling wedding gown, or dress your venue with luxe tablecloths and chair covers, you can’t go wrong. I LOVE this wedding trend.
2. Feathers
I adore the drama of a feather cape or statement headpiece for brides. It’s such a cool fashion look, and one we’ll see more brides channeling in 2015. If you’re going for a more chilled out look for your day you can still work the trend with a cute clutch or through feathery reception details.
3. Tuscan dream
You don’t have to be getting married in an Italian vineyard to get on board with this hot reception trend. Set the tone with rustic stationery printed with lemons and vines, then fill your day with hessian detail and aromatic pots of rosemary.
4. Watercolours
Wedding stationery makes me very happy (I know, I should get out more) and I am coveting all things watercolour for 2015 – there is just something so pretty about a colour-wash save the date or invite. With watercolour bridal gowns spotted on the catwalk at David Fielden and Alan Hannah, this trend is set to run and run.
5. Pineappples
Tropical touches are going to be massive for 2015. Pineapples are totally having a moment – from bold wedding stationery and reception décor to delicate bridal jewellery. Pass us a piña colada…

Very interesting Sarah... one of the things that my husband and I would love , to have in the holiday home in Tuscany that we manage and live in it is right special unique weddings...We're really in Italy though...and in Tuscany ;) So we wish that several of your ideas and suggestions could materialize on top of the hill surrounded by woodlands here, not far from Siena... Looking forward to seeing what is gonna happen in the coming months... Have a lovely beginning of the New Year and thnx for sharing!

Thanks- interesting and inspiring! Did you know pineapples symbolise friendship and hospitality? At least to quilters they do historically and pineapple patterns get used in some wedding & family or friendship quilts. That might be another reason they have popped up for weddings...
