The second weekend of November, Etsy admins Eleanor, Sarah, and Susannah headed up to Edinburgh and Glasgow, Scotland, to meet with our sellers and introduce Etsy to the thriving creative community there. In both cities, we ran newbie workshops, seller meet-ups, and a Q&A’s with admin.
In our newbie workshops, Sarah and Eleanor presented the site and how to get set up with your first listings. The audience also brainstormed shop names, tags, and titles, and learned the keys to successful product photography.
During our meet-ups in both cities, everyone enjoyed delicious scones and tea while networking and hearing more about the Teams in their area. Edinburgh Etsy Team captain, Fiona Heather, talked about her team’s plans for a pop up this Christmas, and many more meetings and events for next year.
In Glasgow, Trudy and her leaders, Lynne, Monica, Katherine, Mairi, Vhari, and LJ spoke about their shops and the Glasgow Etsy Team’s plan for next year which include regularly monthly meetings and marketing projects.
In Edinburgh and Glasgow, after the Teams talked, Etsy admins Susannah and Sarah fielded questions from experienced sellers about changes to the site, the best ways to promote their shops, and how to get discovered on Etsy.
It was a wonderful visit to Scotland. We met so many vibrant sellers. If you enjoyed meeting us too, head over to the Facebook album and tag yourself. To attend more meetings of Etsy sellers in Edinburgh and Glasgow, be sure to join the Edinburgh Etsy Team and the Glasgow Etsy Team.
