Bonfire Night party ideas

Bonfire Night is just days away! If you’re inviting family and friends round for fireworks, food and frolics, check out these ideas to make sure your Bonfire Night party goes with a BANG (sorrynotsorry).

Hang fairy lights to create a warm cosy glow. If you’re planning on putting on a spread, gather some fallen foliage from outside to scatter on the table. Alternatively, hang up some autumn-themed bunting to transform your party space. Head to Pelemele for some gorgeous examples, or why not get creative and make your own?

Get your game on with wicked hot chocolate

Everyone loves something warming to drink when the wind is biting at your cheeks. Experiment with some fun new flavours, like this one from Empire Edibles which is laced with cinnamon, cayenne, ginger and nutmeg. If you fancy going all out, set up a hot chocolate ‘pimping’ station with marshmallows, baileys, chilli, mint, orange…whatever takes your fancy, and let your guests customise their own.

Bring the inside out

So you’ve got your decoration inside sorted, and you’ve nailed the beverage selection, what about outside? You’ll be spending the majority of the evening under the night sky, so make it comfy, warm and welcoming. Scatter cushions on benches as demonstrated by Minuko, add bean bags and chairs, and make sure you have a selection of extra blankets for those FOOLS who forgot to wear their winter warmers…

Kit yourself out

We reckon if you’re going to all this effort for your guests, then YOU deserve a little treat. Invest in some super cosy, hand-knitted mittens or a beautiful scarf to keep you toasty not only on Bonfire Night, but until next spring! Kate Jopling, Summer Field UK and Article Apparel all do beautiful knits.

The Bonfire

Now, we know that piling up as much spare wood as you can works just fine for a bonfire. BUT, what if you wanted something a little more special? Something that will impress, and last a lifetime? Then we have the answer! This sculptural open fire pit serves as both a BBQ and a bonfire, plus the pattern is so season appropriate.
