Rachel is a knitwear designer living and working in Worcester, she published her first book Coop Knits Socks in April 2013, closely followed by A Knitted Sock Society with Rowan Yarns. Her designs have been published in Twist Collective, Interweave Knits and Knitty.

The focus of her designs are small and intricate pieces that are both beautiful and functional. She especially enjoys designing and knitting socks.

UK Wool Week is celebration of my favourite fibre so here are my five favourite wonderful woolly things on Etsy:

Spinning your own yarn is so much fun, learn how to spin your own yarn with the wool in this fantastic spindle kit from Hilltop Cloud then knit yourself a lovely woolly hat.

Knit yourself a pair of socks with this amazing bright yarn. Hand-knitted socks are incredibly warm and perfect for the cold winter days that are just around the corner!

In homage to all things woolly, this amazing mug is covered in sheep with stripes, chevrons and plaids. Perfect for a cup of tea while you plan your next woolly project.

The Wool Yarn Bowl will stop your ball rolling around on the floor while you are knitting, great for projects that use more than one colour, so useful and a beautiful thing to have on display.

There are few things in life I like more than snuggling under a wool blanket when it is cold and/or wet outside. When the weather takes a turn for the worse, curl up with you knitting by a warm fire – perfection!

You can read about Rachel’s constant quest for warm feet, ever growing sock yarn collection and her knitting and spinning adventures on her blog and find her on Ravelry and Twitter as Coopknits.

Oooh, such knitty and nice finds! Share your favourite Etsy woolly wonders in the comments below or tweet us @EtsyUK!
