The weather’s cooling down, so warm yourself up head-to-toe with these essential knitted trends. Take your fashion cues from the likes of Celine, Sonia Rykiel and Stella McCartney, who all sent their models down the AW14 catwalks in stylish knitwear. These ‘need-them-now’ knits are the perfect way to make the transition between the hot summer haze and those chilly autumn days just a little bit easier…

1. Cropped

Just because you’re sacrificing summer gear, doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice the cropped top style. Wear with your high-waisted 50s style skirts or layer over dresses to effortlessly carry your wardrobe through to autumn.

2. Wraps

The perfect piece for layering your knits – pair this ombre number with a light-weight jumper and some sunnies to handle the changeable British weather that we all know and love (not).

3. De-constructed

Looking for that perfect jumper for September? Not too thick? Not too thin? Well we have found one that’s just right – and nails the deconstructed 90s grunge trend in one.

4. Oversized

Go high-fashion and go really oversized in your knitwear. Turn this super-chunky blanket into a sculptural, dramatic coat and cinch at the waist with a belt. Add sky-scraper heels and you’re good to go. If you’re not quite brave enough to wear it outside, it would still make a super-cosy addition to your sofa…

5. Neon

Neon hues are super-hot right now, so bring your autumn wardrobe bang-up-to-date with a pop (or stripe) of neon.
