Etsy finds: Summer Wedding Trends by Rock n Roll Bride

Jun 16, 2014

by Rock n Roll Bride handmade and vintage goods

Topping ‘influential blogger’ lists throughout the UK and beyond, Rock n Roll Bride is the brainchild of writer Kat Williams. Launched in 2007 while Kat was planning her own wedding, it has quickly grown from ‘just another bride blog’ to one of the biggest in the world. After becoming jaded by the limited offerings of the UK wedding industry, Kat saw a niche for alternative wedding inspiration and ran with it! Kat now works on the site, and the ever growing Rock n Roll Bride brand, full-time alongside her long-suffering husband Gareth.

I think it’s safe to say that I am an Etsy obsessive! Barely a day goes by when I’m not checking in to see what my favourite sellers are up to, browsing their beautiful blog or getting distracted by all the pretties in the latest email newsletter…

So needless to say, when Etsy asked me if I’d like to share a selection of my favourite current finds, I jumped at the chance! Below are just a few of the things I’ve been swooning over recently, compiled neatly to fit some of the most popular wedding trends of the season. You’re welcome.

Rock n Roll Bride Etsy wedding picks

1. Geo Curtain/Backdrop
If you’re having a colourful wedding, why not start the day off on the right foot with a glorious ceremony backdrop like this one? It could also be used as a fun photo booth background once the party gets started!

2. Hand Dyed Custom Tea Length Cotton and Tulle Bridesmaid Party Dress
Ouma’s dresses are some of the most dreamy I’ve ever seen. Put each of your bridesmaids in a different colour for a fun and modern touch.

3. Ombré tights
If you’re as obsessed with ombré as I am then you’re going to go crazy for these tights! Available in a variety of colours, they’d look amazing o your bridesmaids… or on you if you want to keep them for yourself (and who’d blame you?)!

4. Push-Pop Confetti
What’s a wedding without confetti? Instead of traditional, boring white, why not add a splash of colour? It will make for amazing photos!

5. Lilac Gold Glitter Tear Drop Stud earrings
A little bit a bling and a splash of gorgeous colour without breaking the bank.

1. Yellow Bridesmaid Dried Flower Bouquet
Natural, organic and eco-friendly weddings are more popular than ever these days. Instead of spending money on something that’s going to die quickly, why not consider a dried flower bouquet? You can keep it forever to remember your special day!

2. Diamond Branch Engagement Ring
If you love nature, why not show it with the engagement ring that you choose? I love this unique branch one!

3. Custom Wedding Cake Toppers
A custom cake topper is a must for many couples and this one made from little wooden peg figures is so super cute!

4. Small Wood Deer Head Wall Trophy
When it comes to decorating your venue, why not get a bit creative with the things that you choose? These wooden trophy heads are sure to be a talking point for your guests – and they’re friendly to the animals too!

1. Beautiful Personalised Handcut Papercut
Julene also takes custom orders so you could get something similar to display at the wedding.

2. His and Her Coffee spoons
… because they are too sweet not to include!

3. Personalized Wine Glasses
Sluuurp! These personalised wine glasses could double up as name cards and as favours for your guests to take home!

4. Custom tiny name necklace
Show your bridesmaids some love with a custom name necklace each.

1. Holographic Unicorn Purse If following trends isn’t your bag, then you’re going to love this one (boom boom!) Unicorns make everything better!

2. Custom Deco Sunglasses
You just know these will go down really well in the photo booth.

3. Bigfoot and Unicorn card
Because nothing says “I love you” better than Bigfoot riding a unicorn.

4. Ceramic pot – Basic Hanging
This might be something you add to your gift registry rather than having at your actual wedding, but it was too cute and funny to leave off this list!
