Wetransfer.com sends files without the complications of logins, signup forms, data capture and interruptive advertising. WeTransfer helps artists, both emerging and established, to promote their artwork via backgrounds that are shown while a file is being transferred or downloaded.
While sending files over the internet sounds like a pretty dry and technical affair, WeTransfer found a way to make it interesting by promoting up-and-coming artists from around the world. In the past, they’ve featured work from a variety of artists such as New York based designer KAWS, photographer Pieter Henket and Parra, who is known for his curved post pop imagery. This month, as hundreds of thousands of people download or transfer files, they’ll get treated to illustrations from 2 European Etsy sellers, Sandra Dieckmann and Mathilde Aubier.
The first two artists to be showcased:
Sandra Dieckmann (UK):
Where would you like to be in ten years?
I would like to find the end of the rainbow, walk up it and climb from there onto a mountain and slide back down through the snow. No, really!
I just want to have fun while working as hard as time and energy and health permit. Whatever life has in store, I’m ready! I think I can see a little house, water, many dogs and cats, a goat, a tiny horse, a boat, wind in the trees, someone I love, a calm feeling of accomplishment inside, and enough drive left to never stop. Oh, and I want to be healthy please. You can’t buy health!

Mathilde Aubier (FR):
I’m a French artist, graphic designer and illustrator, born in 1984. I’m a Libra ascendant Scorpio and my cat’s name is Miko.
What was your favourite high school lesson, and why?
It’s hard to say because I don’t have good memories from high school, it was very boring for me. I was very discouraged back then, especially when I told teachers that I wanted to be an illustrator.
What would you change if you were the Prime Minister?
A very idealistic thing: Art for everyone, half of the day.
What will be the greatest thing you can achieve, if anything were possible?
It would be to learn many skills – from being a farmer to a tango dancer, a kind of superwoman.
*Etsy is working closely with WeTransfer to give more sellers the same opportunity in the coming months. We’ll make sure to keep you posted via blog posts.
