Meet & Make is a series of hands-on creative community events hosted each month by partner organizations, with support from Etsy. For July’s roster, join us in San Francisco for a DIY bath and beauty workshop, and in Los Angeles to try your hand at a Japanese weaving technique.
Please note that the regular Meet & Make programs in Chicago and San Jose will resume in August.
Craft Lab in San Francisco: DIY Scrubs
Join artist and SF Etsy team captain Katy Atchison for a DIY workshop at the Museum of Craft and Design. This month you’ll learn how to make a set of sugar and salt scrubs with gift-ready packaging, while learning about the natural benefits of each. All materials included.
Admission for this 21+ event is $10, or $5 if you’re a museum member or a Yelp member, and includes supplies, instruction, and beer generously sponsored by Lagunitas Brewing Company. Please note that registration is highly recommended, and ticket sales end on July 11 at 4 p.m. PT.

Craft Night in LA: Japanese Weaving
In celebration of the current collaborative exhibition with the Japan Foundation, this month’s Meet & Make at the Craft and Folk Art Museum will explore making sakiori, a traditional form of Japanese weaving using repurposed fabrics. Featured artist Yu Cotton-well will also be on hand to talk about her installation in the museum’s front window.
Admission is $7 or free for CAFAM members, and covers materials, snacks, drinks, and instruction. RSVP is required.
