One of my favorite things about shopping on Etsy is having access to a global community of sellers. Whether you’re shopping for original illustrations or vintage housewares, it’s really exciting to be able to connect with someone in your town or on the other side of the world.
As Chad wrote in his note about our commitment to a global marketplace, “To truly be a marketplace for the world, we have to speak the languages of the world.” We’d hate for language barriers to prevent people from using Etsy and being a part of our community, so today we’re happy to announce that Etsy is now also available in French.
Etsy in French offers a fully translated site to help French speakers find items listed in any language, making it easier for them to explore Etsy and experience all the marketplace has to offer. French-speaking sellers can also enroll their shops in French to provide a custom experience for their French-speaking customers. To experience Etsy in French and to learn more about specific features, check out the instructions here. For more information about how the launch might affect you as a seller check out this Seller Handbook post and read up on how you can take advantage of shop language tools to reach a broader audience.
Along with Etsy in German, Etsy in French is just one more way we’re better serving our international community. Thanks for being a part of Etsy as we continue to grow, and join us in saying “Bienvenue !” to all our French speaking members from around the world!
