Hello Etsians of Australia and beyond, Kirsteene from the Community Team here dropping in to say a quick hello and make a special announcement about the Australian Admin team.
Since I started in September 2011 we’ve initiated some projects including the dedicated Etsy AU Facebook page, Twitter and newsletter. We’ve got around to a few places to say hello to our community (although there is still some more places to visit yet!) and we have put on some fun Craft Nights.
In order to support even more of the local community for 2012, I’m pleased to announce that Angela D’Alton will be taking up the reins as our second Australian community manager! Angela has a wealth of experience within Australia’s design community as the owner of Leeloo.com.au. Angela’s background also includes varied jobs such as work as a stylist, an IT trainer, a singer, a voice-over artist, a temp receptionist, a massage therapist/reflexologist, an actress, and a server technician. With a lifelong interest in fashion and design, Angela is extremely passionate about grass-roots creativity and supporting designers and artists within the Australian community. She cannot wait to hit the ground running!
Angela will be working closely with our Australian seller community and will be based in Sydney. Please join me in welcoming Angela to the team!
Here are a few words from Angela herself:
Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive regarding the announcement of my new role alongside Kirsteene at Etsy. The encouragement I’ve already received has been overwhelming, and I look forward to chatting with you all and getting your input and feedback as to how we at Etsy can support you as sellers, aid in the development of seller skills and ensure the best experience possible as an important part of the global community.
While Kirsteene and I will be sharing a lot of the tasks and responsibilities, I will primarily be focused on the support of sellers and the development of their skills within Etsy and our community. I look forward to nurturing and encouraging further the indie art and design community in Sydney by facilitating workshops, training, events and much more.
Thanks again! Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, issues or you’d like to say hello!
