As fall sets in, teams on Etsy are ramping up for the holiday season. Many teams are getting involved in our Holiday Bootcamp, organizing promotional campaigns and activities and finalizing plans for local craft shows and parties. Please help us congratulate this month’s teams awarded grants for their projects!

Trillium Artisans are a nonprofit organization working with 50 artisans in Portland, Oregon who create with recycled and reclaimed materials. They are planning a holiday pop-up shop in the busy retail district of downtown Portland during November and December. Their grant will help create promotional materials to spread awareness of their mission and create buzz for the big project.

Fun can be had by all in the Holiday Scavenger Hunt, hosted by the Shop Makeover Team, who received funding for prizes and giveaways to be held on multiple team blogs for the project. We’re thrilled to see teams working together online to organize themselves to build their communities.

Also, two teams out of Texas are putting their grants towards handmade markets. The Etsy Fort Worth team is hosting the Cowtown Indie Bazaar on October 15 at Will Rogers Memorial Complex. Their sister team, Etsy 817, will be helping out at the Cowtown Indie Bazaar, leading a DIY craft table with origami wreaths and ornaments. They’ll also be putting together their own Handmade Holiday Marketplace December 9 and 10.

The NA Crafters received funding to create signage for their upcoming Holiday Craft Expo taking place November 13. Applications for the show are still open; you can apply here.

On top of that, Handmade Miami is also hosting a craft show called the Craft Carnival November 5; Etsy will be subsidizing DIY tables for show attendees.

The SFEtsy team is planning a community gathering complete with art projects, a picnic, and a crafter swap in Golden Gate Park to build team spirit and general awareness of the handmade movement. The brand new Anchorage Etsy team plans to kick-start participation by running a booth at the Christmas Arts and Crafts Emporium in Anchorage in late November.

Etsy Team Grants are awarded on a monthly basis to provide creative, energetic and dedicated teams with financial assistance. The money can be used to subsidize team advertising, fund participation in events, host promotions or as a meeting stipend. Our goal is to have teams be successful and spread the Etsy love. We want to hear your exciting ideas and then help you make them happen! Read more about the Team Grants Program or fill out an application.
