A Smorgasbord of Crafting handmade and vintage goods

This coming week is clamoring with craft happenings, including Friday’s global Craft Party, an herbal lip balm Craft Night, and crafting in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Join us in celebration of creativity and community! Read on for details of all of these events.

Brooklyn Craft Party

Grab your party hat and join us for the Craft Party at the Etsy Labs in Brooklyn! Craft Party is a celebration of creativity and community held all across the globe on Friday, June 10. Our Brooklyn Craft Party will be a print party. Come on by and screenprint a tote, try out our letterpress, make a button, snap photos in our photo booth, listen to live music, have a drink, and join in the world-wide fun of Craft Party.

Live music will be provided by Raya Brass Band. You might remember them from our Craft Party video. Get ready to dance!

Letterpress expertise will be provided by Dikko Faust, founder of Purgatory Pie Press, wood type setter for How to Make Books (and others by Esther K. Smith) and instructor at School of the Visual Arts.

Where:  55 Washington Street, Suite 712 (7th floor) Brooklyn, New York, 11201
: Friday, June 10 from 7-9 p.m.

Lip Balm Craft Night

Join Irina of Phoenix Botanicals and learn how to make your own herbal lip balm! Phoenix Botanicals are lovingly made with local wild plants and organic ingredients, raising awareness of our abundant local healing plants, and eco-friendly packaging.

We will use simple natural ingredients you can find in your kitchen, farmer’s market and even your backyard. We’ll include in our recipe a lovely skin-healing infused oil, made with a local plant. The days of allowing harmful mineral oils, parabens and mystery ingredients on your skin is over. After a demo you will make your own batches in small groups, and be able to bring home special natural lip balms for yourself and special friends.

Note: For this Craft Night we will be hosting 4 short hourly demos for small groups. At this moment, the sessions are full, though you are welcome to join the waiting list on the Etsy Labs Meetup page, or watch the demo online.

Where: 55 Washington Street, Suite 712  (7th floor) Brooklyn, New York, 11201
: Monday, June 13. RSVP required.
Webcast: For those of you who can’t make it in person, we’ll be doing a live demo via Livestream at 3:30 p.m. ET. You can check out the feed right on the Etsy Community page.
