This week we are pleased to announce bi-coastal crafting events! Join the Etsy Labs in both Brooklyn and San Francisco (and online!) for free hands-on workshops to stir up your creativity. So, read on for twice the crafting fun this week…
Crafting in Brooklyn, NY:
Open Craft Night at the Etsy Labs in DUMBO
On Monday, June 28, we’re hosting an open Craft Night, as we usually do for the last Craft Night of each month. Instead of an organized craft, we invite you to dive into any project that strikes your fancy.
Bring along any craft you would like to develop during this week’s Craft Night, or start a brand new project using our tools and extra supplies. This is a golden opportunity to complete an unfinished project from a past Craft Night, or finally get a start of a project you’ve been dreaming up, like sewing that summery sundress or making party decorations for your July 4th shindig. We have a variety of all your favorite crafting tools and supplies available for you to use for free during Open Craft Night, as long as you play nice! Snacks are welcome, as always.
When: Monday, June 28, 2010. Drop in any time between 4 to 8 p.m. ET.
Where: Etsy Labs at 55 Washington Street, Suite 512, Brooklyn, NY
Upcoming Events in Brooklyn:
6/26: Day of Fashion: “Brooklyn Style” at the Brooklyn Museum
7/05: Craft Night cancelled for the July 4th holiday
7/12: Make Faux Food with Kitiya from My Candy Castle
7/19: 4th Annual Cupcake Craft Night with Cupcakes Take the Cake
Crafting in San Francisco, CA:
Craft Bar With Etsy Labs at the Museum of Craft and Folk Art in San Francisco
Craft Bar with Etsy Labs at MOCFA continues! Each month, the Museum of Craft and Folk Art features an original, easy-to-follow project, designed to guide and encourage you. For those who prefer a less structured craft experience, there is also a free-form “Stitch and Bitch” area where you can start a new project, or work on an existing one.
On Thursday, July 1, join us for an evening of socializing and crafting, featuring three local felting artists. Make a needle felted necklace with Jamie Chan from Urban Fauna Studios, needle felt a penguin with Jackie Huang from Woolbuddy, and create a cute felted caterpillar with artist Lea Zalinskis. Don’t forget to take inspiration from the gallery and the store while you explore the creative process.
