For folks in Brooklyn and surrounding areas: Handmade Music Night is upon us once again! Handmade Music Night is tomorrow, Thursday January 15th, 2009 from 7:30 – 10:30 PM EST at 3rd Ward in Brooklyn. (map) This FREE monthly event spectacular falls on every third Thursday from tomorrow night into the DIY future, with several interesting developments in the works. It’s presented by Etsy.com, CDM, MAKEzine, 3rd Ward, and new on the roster this month, XLR8R magazine.
Another new change is the introduction of our proud sponsor, Pabst Blue Ribbon, who will be providing FREE PBR to all instrument makers and attendees of the event. I’ve been informed this is one of those “while it lasts” sort of things, so be sure to arrive early to receive your very own commemorative fist and gut filler.
As usual, prepare to be amazed by the cabinet of curiosities that Handmade Music Night promises to deliver this month, featuring:
- A duel of gestural interfaces between Mouse & the Billionaire aka M Bethancourt and Brian Kerr
- Rucyl Mills Wearable Leather-and-Snakeskin Controllers
- Prepared NES performed by Notendo, aka Jeff Donaldson
- Also Richie Brown’s “Mannequins as Instruments” (Warning: Mature Subject Matter in the video below)
This month will also feature a pre-screening of co-organizer Make Magazine’s new public television series: Make: Television.
…And so much more!! See more from Previous Handmade Music Nights!
