After many long talks about business, art, shared dreams, and baby tigers, The Sampler (www.homeofthesampler.com) and Etsy have decided to join forces to share ideas, resources, and to better serve the handmade community!
For those of you who are not familiar with the Sampler:
The Sampler is a super fun marketing & promotional tool for indie businesses. Each month, independent crafters, artists, shops, zines and record labels send samples and promotional materials to a contribution pool. All the samples are photographed, posted to the site and then are portioned out, put in little packages and sent off to Sampler Subscribers, other Sampler Contributors and members of the Media all over the world!
For fans of the Sampler, this new relationship will mean all kinds of good things, like: more Sampler staff to answer questions and handle contributions, better packaging and shipping, and a ton of new projects they’ll be developing with us.
This partnership provides Etsy another venue to help independent creators and their products reach a wider audience, and hopefully take another step towards making a living making things.
Both Etsy and the Sampler want to educate the world about the true value of supporting independent creators and buying handmade. Working together will only help us in this endeavor.
