One of the easiest ways to create a unique bridal look is to forgo a traditional veil. But what do you top your perfectly coiffed updo with in its place? From jeweled headbands to boho flower crowns, there are plenty of options. Here are some of our favorite veil alternatives.

Blame it on the royal wedding, but we’re loving traditional fascinators and mini-hats as bridal attire. Channel your inner duchess with lace and rhinestones, or go for a feather-adorned clip to gently hold back the front of your hair. We prefer white or other neutral colors, so that the unique piece blends effortlessly with the rest of your ensemble. Explore great hats and fascinators on

If you’re looking to sparkle on your big day, choose an heirloom-worthy jeweled halo or vintage hair comb. These pieces are a huge departure from the traditional chiffon veil, but still fit with most bridal looks. We love delicate details like gold leaves mixed with pearls, or crystal stitched into lace. If you’re hosting a laid-back affair, you might consider a braided updo with minimal accessories. Keep hair in place with tiny jeweled bobby pins (perhaps your something blue?) or a simple clip. Bonus: You’ll use these miniature accessories over and over again. Find more fabulous updos at

Enhance an outdoor ceremony by adding pieces of nature to your hair. Tuck an oversized gardenia into soft curls, or wrap a crown of flowers around your head. We love the look of a loose braid accented with floral hair clips. Pack them away in your honeymoon suitcase for a night out or a romantic stroll on the beach. I have never been fond of the traditional veil. The last thing I wanted on my wedding day was to have my face covered. I opted for an intricate braid, featuring pearl pins throughout the hairstyle. Even the most traditional guests loved my decision, and to this day, I do not regret my decision to skip the veil!

I like fascinators much more than traditional veils. They're fresh and modern. I don't even know if I'm going to marry, but 'd love to wear them for special occasions or for some smart-set events! A beautiful collection.
