We understand ourselves not only by what we have acquired but also by what we have given up. I found QQ‘s whimsical drawings in our Into the Great Beyond Flickr pool. Add your own illustrated submissions, and your story could end up on the Etsy Blog!
LittleBlueMoon is a tiny shop owned by Qing2, or QQ as her friends call her. She stays with her lovely family (including a mongrel named Brownie) on the tiny island of Singapore. Blue is her favourite colour because it is the colour of tranquility. She names her belongings with the word “Little.” Hence, her thumb drive and hard disk are called “Little Turquoise” and “Little Cyan,” respectively. Although she majored in animation, her heart is in illustrations and paintings. She draws inspiration from nature, children, animals and the local culture. Whenever she looks up at the stars at night, she feels deeply connected to the universe. She pictures our planet floating in space, going round in orbits from time without beginning. Living is magic to her and she tries to work that into her life as well as her art.
P.S. That blue, leafy hair-clip is handmade by her friend Bunnigea!
Childhood Drawings Say
“Hello, we heard you kept some other pieces. Let us just camp in the neighbourhood’s recycling bin! We don’t mind at all. We don’t.”
“We met some of our new friends. Since we are no longer your joyful companion, please keep us in your heart and sell us to the Karang Guni Man.”
“Hi there, your wallet is getting fatter all because of us. Time for us to go and for something else to come!”
Thanks to QQ for her playful interpretation of our series! You can see more of her work in the Seller’s Items below.
