Kelly Beall is the mind and keyboard behind the blog Design Crush. What began in June 2007 as a place to catalog design inspiration and musings quickly turned into a design crush of massive proportions. Every Design Crush post is kept short and sweet (“crush-sized”), showing off anything and everything Kelly’s inspired by: package design, art, advertising, music, food — you name it. Today, she’s turned her eye to Etsy.
As a designer, the term handmade has very special meaning to me. In this day and age — where it’s so easy to create something on a computer screen, outsource it or buy it from a big box store — taking the time to craft something on your own has immense value. I’m also a hugely visual person, you know, the girl who feels every single paper sample and wants to touch the paintings at museums. I love surrounding myself with the sorts of things that beg to be picked up.
