Every day our community grows in unexpected and delightful ways. For our Fresh Shops series, we spotlight new and noteworthy sellers who have been on Etsy for a handful of months or are waiting for those first few sales.
Looking for a wardrobe refresh? Let Etsy merchandising specialist (and in-house style guru) Kelsey Taylor Hunt point you to the up-and-coming fashion designers on Etsy that she’s most excited about this season. Which one suits your personal style?
“These lightweight knits are perfect for the transition into snuggly fall weather,” says Hunt of the natural linen and wool knits line Pappus. “I’m especially loving the wrap cardigan — such a fun twist on a closet staple.” Each Pappus garment is made on a manual knitting machine in the designers’ studio in Ogre, Latvia; smart details, like a subtle shoulder stripe on a raglan sleeve or the casual-cool slouch of a rolled-edge beanie, set their pieces apart. After Becca Johnson noticed a real lack of activewear in her size, she drew on her 10-plus years of fashion industry experience to create one-of-a-kind leggings from size 8 – 26, in bold, energetic prints. “These statement-making prints will add some oomph to your day, whether you’re running at the gym or running errands,” Hunt says. The best part? Johnson didn’t cut any corners with the construction: Leggings are equipped with convenient hidden waistband pockets, double-layered diamond gussets for strength and flexibility, and flat seams and high waists for comfort. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in her native Poland (and the daughter of a crafty mom with a knack for DIY fashion and decor), Coolawoola designer Lena was practically born to launch a line. Her chosen niche? Creating eco-friendly color-blocked coats, capes and scarves from upcycled wool sweaters. “Each of her one-of-a-kind pieces showcases Lena’s commitment to fun and creativity,” Hunt says.
