Every day, our community grows in unexpected and delightful ways. For our Fresh Shops series, sellers who have been on Etsy for a handful of months or are waiting for those first few sales introduce themselves. Here’s a warm welcome to all our newbies!

Hi! I’m Anna ?awska. I’m the owner and designer of my little company, Anna ?awska Jewellery. I run my teensy business in Pozna?, Poland, where I live and create.

I decided to start creating jewellery when I was working as a visual merchandiser. I needed proper jewellery to perfect an outfit. I was looking for something simple and original which would match my minimalistic taste. I couldn’t find anything suitable, so I started to design something on my own.

The first necklace I created used metal nuts, which I adore for their industrial look. Later on, I started incorporating metallic embroidery floss (which I’ve totally been in love with) and leather. I link the leather pieces with the stainless steel — a perfect match.

Everything I release is handmade by me. I cut out the leather pieces, grind the stainless steel and bind the floss. Thus, my jewellery mixes physical work and artistic thinking. The work gives me a lot of satisfaction, as well as glued fingers, broken nails and a pain in my neck. Paradoxically, I like the labor-intensive pieces the most. A little physical sacrifice is undeniably worth it.

My family and friends supported my plan to make jewellry professionally. Obviously, it wasn’t easy or idyllic at the beginning. However, that volatile time taught me to set some guidelines for my own creative process. I never stop searching for something new, fresh and original. I don’t strictly follow the fashion trends. And definitely I’m not inspired by any of the high street stores.

My Etsy shop lets me share my works with the whole world. It may sound trivial, but Etsy’s customers make me feel that my work’s understood. It’s very motivating when you receive the e-mails from people who wear and enjoy your jewellery. Believe me, the cloudiest day can be brightened up by simple feedback like, “Your jewellery is amazing. I really love wearing it!”
