Hello! My name is Deividas Karoblis, and I live in Vilnius, Lithuania. A third of my country is covered by forest – which makes it easy to guess why I make wooden crafts for my brand, SKEGGOX.

I was born and raised in northern Lithuania, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I spent a lot of time in nature; even now, living and working in the capital city, I try to escape and go hiking and fishing – or just take a walk in the forest – as often as I can. Being in nature is not only refreshing – it also inspires me to create.

My father is my biggest inspiration. He was a carpenter, and growing up I spent a lot of time in his workshop learning about woodworking. When I moved to Vilnius for my studies, I didn’t give up on working with wood entirely, but for a long time it was just a hobby. About three years ago, I started growing a beard and noticed that I needed a comb for proper grooming. I couldn’t find a comb I really liked, so I decided to use my woodworking skills to make one myself.

My first attempts at making a wooden comb were certainly not perfect, but I was happy with the idea, and I decided that I wanted to offer the highest-quality version of my combs to others. I spent two years trying various technologies and laminating methods to create a comb that was both incredibly thin and light, and also sturdy. When I achieved my goals for the design, SKEGGOX was born. From there, I started focusing on growing my product assortment.

I started selling on Etsy about a year ago. At that point, I was still in the hobby stage of woodworking, but I dreamed (timidly) that one day I’d be able to quit my advertising job and work for myself as a specialist and creator. Telling the story now, I can say that it only took me 11 months to realize that dream: a month ago, I quit my job and decided to commit 100 percent to developing my brand. Etsy had a huge influence on this decision — positive reviews and recommendations from clients brought me a lot of joy and self-confidence. I believe that in the future more and more clients will choose SKEGGOX products — and I promise to put a lot of work and effort into achieving this!
