My name is Kristina and I’m the founder and maker at Shnop Shnop, where I design handmade clothing and accessories for children and their mothers. I live in Vilnius, Lithuania, with my husband and our adorable 3-year-old boy. They are my happiness, my inspiration, my everything.
I studied handicrafts – knitting, crocheting, sewing and weaving – in high school, but then my studies turned in the opposite direction. When my son Arejas came into the world, it was like a burst of fresh air; I came up with the idea of making knitted baby accessories in early 2013, and from there everything happened very quickly.
Clients started buying my pieces within the first few days after I opened my Etsy shop, which surprised me and made me endlessly happy. I felt encouraged, so I worked to expand my line. I really believe that when you work from the heart with positive thoughts, everything is possible.
I always want to make designs that are unique and comfortable to wear. I pay a lot of attention to the quality of the materials I use, and I never make pieces that my son or I wouldn’t wear. I think about each design from start to finish, and I always ask myself — if I were a client, what would make me feel happy, surprised and satisfied?
For me, Etsy is more than just a marketplace. I’ve received so much valuable knowledge about building a business here, and about getting to know my clients and their needs. I have a lot of ideas for the future, but my main goal is to take Shnop Shnop to the next level and become a top brand for mothers and their little ones.
