My name is Allison Warrington and I’m the designer, maker, photographer and stylist behind My A La Mode Boutique. I live in Florida.
I’ve always had an obsession with color – and lots of it. My mom is an artist and we lived in a very small town when I was a kid, so designing my next piece of “art” was my entertainment growing up. It’s been my dream to have my own boutique and create a brand since I was 12 years old.
I went to college to study fashion, and I participated in design competitions, internships, and just about anything else I could to be in the industry. When I graduated I landed a job in fashion, but I wasn’t creating and I was far from being my own boss. So after five years, I finally decided to take the leap of faith and leave my corporate job to start my own business.
Today I feel so lucky to wake up every morning excited to create. My inspiration comes from the oddest things: an old, brightly-colored door; a baby elephant; a fruit stand; an old map – you name it. When I see something that makes me smile, I try to incorporate it into my work.
Etsy has given me the opportunity to start living my dream. My husband and I decided to sell our house and travel while we work; we are currently exploring Florida and plan to travel the world together while continuing to create. I’m fortunate that with My A La Mode I just need a blank sheet of canvas, my sewing machine, paint, and my imagination.
