Hello! My name is Ashley Kukulski and I’m the maker behind Evermore Paper Co. I design papercut greeting cards and more from my home studio in Chicago.
I am a devoted DIYer, and I’ve dabbled in nearly every medium. Being able to add personal and handmade touches throughout my home, correspondence and gifts is very important to me, and that’s what led me to start making my own greeting cards. I value relationships more than anything, and some of my most prized possessions are handwritten notes I’ve received. My goal is to infuse this love into my products – I want to provide a space that feels authentic and will inspire senders to fill my cards with their own beautiful words.
Each of my cards is cut one at a time by machine and assembled by hand using a little adhesive and a lot of love. The papercut process can be manual at times, but I love having a hand in every step along the way. It has also challenged the way in which I approach design. I have the tendency to convert images into positive and negative space and I am always looking for ways to present them as simply as possible.
My style is constantly evolving and heavily influenced by my surroundings. Lately, I’ve been drawn to vintage wallpapers, textiles and mid-century furniture. I am always on the go and like to carry my sketchbook with me so that I can draw whenever inspiration strikes. Many of my initial sketches, even in the roughest of forms, end up becoming my final designs.
From the moment I started selling my cards on Etsy, I began soaking up information on how to run a business. The Seller Handbook has become an invaluable resource, and I am so thankful to be a part of such a collaborative community. My goal is to never stop learning and pushing my limits. Going forward, I hope to continue to grow my brand and keep adding new products to the mix, including a small collection of invites.
