Hello, my name is Limore. My mother Shuly and I are the proud owners, designers and creators behind the brand Bubal’e – which means ‘baby doll’ in Hebrew. Together, we make handmade dresses for flower girls and other special occasions. We live and work in Jerusalem, Israel.
Bubal’e is a family business; we are a mother-daughter team, both with a background in fashion. Our business started from our shared love of making things for the little ones in our family; three years ago, we quit our jobs and opened our Etsy shop.
Our process starts with an idea or source of inspiration, followed by the fun part: sketching and choosing fabrics. We each bring something to the table during the design process: I’m in charge of designing our collections and developing patterns, while my mom focuses on cutting the fabrics, sewing the samples, and making our custom orders.
My biggest inspiration comes from my two little girls (3 and 7) and their perspective. When I design, I try to capture the spirit, innocence and freedom of childhood, along with all the dreams that come with being a little girl. Another source of inspiration for me is the Victorian era and Victorian clothing. I love the beautiful gowns, handmade laces and frills adorning girls’ dresses of that period.
At Bubal’e, we find a great deal of satisfaction in creating custom orders. Our biggest reward is receiving buyer photos and getting to see all the beautiful little girls in our creations – it’s the most satisfying feeling there is! Our business is growing each and every day, and Bubal’e is constantly evolving. We are so grateful to have found Etsy – being here has opened up a world of opportunities to us. Our future goal is to expand our shop and to one day sell our dresses in children’s boutiques overseas.
