Classic, Romantic or Vintage: What’s Your Wedding Style?

Jun 11, 2013

by Nordstrom Weddings handmade and vintage goods

Nordstrom’s Bridal Director Andrea Wasserman keeps her finger on the pulse of the bridal industry to curate the selection of gowns, shoes, accessories, bridesmaid dresses and more available at Nordstrom’s eighteen Wedding Suites across the country. Her expertise has made her a go-to resource for brides, bridesmaids, and bridal editors alike. For more inspiration, visit Nordstrom Weddings and The Wedding Suite Blog, or follow Nordstrom Weddings on PinterestFacebook and Twitter.

At the Nordstrom Wedding Suite, we’re always looking for unique, meaningful and exclusive products to offer our brides — which made partnering with Etsy a natural fit. Together we’re thrilled to share a curated assortment of bridal veils, accessories, reception decor and bridesmaids gifts, now available in select Wedding Suite locations.

Today, we’ve paired three gorgeous Nordstrom wedding gowns with complementary Etsy accessories and decor to create three distinct wedding looks: classic, romantic, and vintage. The results are sure to make any bride-to-be swoon.

[Clockwise from top: Caroline Devillo gown; Monogrammed mirror by sweetsorrella; Ring holder by palomasnest; Personalized hanger by lilafrances; Bride and Groom Sign by Susabellas; Wedding forks by MilkandHoneyLuxuries; Paper flower bouquet by LoveleeFlowers]

Timeless chic is the modus operandi for the classic bride. We love the simple elegance of these bride and groom signs, a paper bouquet, compact mirrors (for her or her ‘maids!), a personalized ring-bearer dish the couple will cherish forever, and a trumpet-fitting Caroline Devillo gown, sealed with a bow.

[Clockwise from top: Anne Barge gown; Flower crown by whichgoose; Porcelain tea light holder by wapa; “Here Comes the Bride” sign by TheRitzyRose; Cake topper by firstsnowfall; Burlap table runner by AntoArts; Rustic cake topper by AntoArts]

Our romantic-at-heart bride is seeking handcrafted, DIY-inspired decor, then accessorizing herself in a garden-esque headpiece and a flowing Anne Barge gown. The result is effortlessly flattering.

[Clockwise from top: Hayley Paige gown; Table numbers by WhiteWillowPaper; Earrings from dreamyvintage; Chalkboard sets by ShugabeeLane; Bouquet by BridalBouquetsbyKy; Doily garland by WHITEStardust; Bridal headband by Serephine]

Vintage-inspired wedding style can take many forms, but we love the idea of an amazing ballgown from Hayley Paige, timeless jewels, chalkboard signs, and statement accessories. We think Grace Kelly would have approved of this vignette!

Such a wide variety of ideas for weddings are available here on etsy and all over television and internet sites, so different than when I was married 25 years ago. I love how creative it can be now, but I'm not a big fan of over-the-top extravagance. Each to his/her own of course, but to me a wedding is a very personal, intimate occasion. The picks in this post are quite lovely. I'm sure working with Nordstrom is a great thing for the (probably few) Etsy sellers who were chosen, but perhaps through them many brides will be introduced to the great selection of ideas and products available through Etsy for weddings and everything else imaginable!
