Make a DIY Geometric Mobile

Mar 18, 2014

I love the whimsical and bright look of this simple geometric hanging mobile. Whether above the bar, a crib or settled in a reading nook, it will give a bit of bright flair to your space. And it’s so easy to make!

You will need:
Copper jewelry wire, in a color of your choice (note: we used both 19 and 22 gauge)
Wire cutters or sharp scissors
Craft glue
Wooden dowel or embroidery hoop
Thread or baker’s twine

Start by bending the wire into two identical diamond shapes. Place a small dab of glue at the top of the first diamond and secure the second inside. Repeat this process until you have the desired number of diamonds for your mobile. Allow the glue to fully dry.

String the double diamonds using thread or baker’s twine for a graphic, bright hanging mobile. Tie each string along a wooden dowel or embroidery hoop, depending on the look you are trying to achieve.

Hang and enjoy the bright colors and bouncing light in your space!
