Let’s Hit the Beach

I’ve got a big case of wanderlust right now. As temperatures start to hit their summer peaks, making the most of these sunny days seem to be my only concern. I’ve been scouting out locations, planning outfits, and getting things ready to kick back a little and have some fun.

As with most of my vacations, I’m a big fan of packing light; a few key items will help to look awesome on the beach and off. I always like to layer on jewelry and accessories to make even a simple cover-up transition to evening.

Once the fashion piece is in order, I love to line up a few activities to get moving and have some fun wherever I decide to go. Surf lessons or paddleball on the beach with my husband are a perfect way to spend the sunny days. A few classic books are great for a little downtime, and, of course, the tunes have got to be rocking too!

Even considering the exciting places to go and things to do at the beach, sometimes just sitting in the sun with a cold drink and watching the ocean is enough. With the right gear, your mindless wave watching will be cool and comfortable

Whether you’re making your own oasis in your backyard or traveling far away, having the right tools in your beach arsenal will leave you feeling cool and relaxed.

Love these beach-y picks, especially that Florida map! My 93 year old grandfather - a master carpenter and high school teacher - just recently showed me pictures of the wooden surfboards that his students were building in the 50's and 60's. They looked much like the beautiful board featured here :-)

it would be so nice to get out of the heat here and lay on a breezy beach for a few days, listening to the waves crash. Nothing more relaxing in the world.
