If Melanie’s song lyric, “I rode my bicycle past your window last night,” rings a bell, it’s time to get smart and be seen when riding in the dark! Join us for a bike-themed craft night with Susan Lindell of Recycle-a-Bicycle and Nona Varnado. We will begin with a flat fix demo from Susan and then Nona will guide us through belt making with reflective tape on our BERNINA sewing machines. If you would like to make your favorite biking garment more safe and reflective, bring that along too. If you can’t make it in person tune into Etsy’s Livestream at 3 p.m. ET to watch the live demo.
About This Week’s Teachers:
Nona Varnado is passionate about making cycling a revolution in American culture through advocacy, fashion and fun local events. Nona is also the lead editor of the collaborative women’s cycling website, The Bird Wheel. WellandGoodNYC recently wrote of the designer: “Nona Varnado, the Brooklyn fashion designer leading the peloton in cycling style, just launched her first collection solely for spin class. And the result is get-outta-your-saddle stylish. Varnado’s new performance-meets-fashion collection is poised to shake up current indoor cycling fashion monotony.” She is also featured in this Wall Street Journal article.
