The final Craft Night of April is here, can you believe it? Hopefully throughout this rainy month (perfect craft weather, might I add), you have sprouted some seedlings that will nourish you creatively throughout the season. Between Craft Night and How-Tuesday, we’ve covered all sorts of topics this past month from making elegant recycled vases to sewing simple wallets. To close the month, we’ll be co-hosting a Craft & Shoot at 3rd Ward on Saturday, and an Open Craft Night at the Etsy Labs on Monday. Read on for details…
Craft & Shoot at 3rd Ward
Make it, shoot it, sell it! We’ve teamed up with 3rd Ward for an afternoon of hands-on craft workshops, product photography help, and Etsy shop advice. Come ready to learn some new skills, and ask Etsy Admin your burning questions. There will be something for everyone at this hands-on event. Get creative with demos taught by 3rd Ward instructors:
- Learn how to enamel jewelry with Max Goodman.
- Crochet flowers with Kim Kotary.
- Make your own skincare with Joanne Sherrow (BYO bag and container).
- Participate in a sewing demo with Tracey Toole.
Plus, learn how to show & photograph your handiwork in the best light with a free consultation with 3rd Ward instructors, Ken Collins and Jackie Snow. Bring your own digital camera and anything you’d like to photograph.
Where: 3rd Ward, 195 Morgan Avenue, Brooklyn, New York
When: Saturday, April 23 from 2-4:30 p.m.
Open Craft Night at Etsy Labs
On Monday, we invite you to bring your own project to work on (or start one at Craft Night) during an unstructured evening of making at the Etsy Labs. No formal instruction will be given, though you are welcome and encouraged to use our equipment and spare materials and confer with one another to share crafting tips and tricks. This is a great time to finish neglected projects, expand on skills learned at past Craft Nights, or try something totally new. We have Bernina 350PE sewing machines, paper cutters, yarn, needles, paper, basic supplies galore, and a free Magnolia Photobooth. Come on by for a playful evening of springtime meeting and making.
Where: 55 Washington Street, Suite 712 (7th floor) Brooklyn, New York, 11201
When: Monday, April 25. Drop in between 4-8 p.m. (Clean up starts at 7:45 p.m.)
