This week’s edition of News From the Craft + Style Blogosphere has licorice ball gags, Swiss cheese face cage, elegant pompadours and rich velvet (never velveteen), and a glimpse into the occult, complete with miniskirts and a smoking bottle.
Appetizing, no? A solid dousing of fudge to the face à la Double Dare or the caress of an amorous licorice vine certainly provokes a range of associations: sprinkles-as-ants, profound stickiness, mouth watering, and a filth that cannot easily be washed away. Photographer Marcel van der Vlugt’s next project should probably involve some sort of pudding, wrestling, kiddie pool combination. Probably. [Via Haute Macabre]
These seemingly pre-Raphaelite portraits are the product of my new favorite photographer, Billy & Hells. I’ve mentioned him in this column before, but his work is worth reposting. Elegant, painterly and utterly divine. [Via Chateau Thombeau]
