With our annual Craft Party right around the corner, it’s perfect timing for us to gather inspiration from the makers (that’s you) who are hosting our “Hero” Parties around Australia!
Our Hero Parties are the main events around the country, being run by our VIP members of the Etsy Community and team captains in each state.
Kate’s favourite’s from Etsy:
1. The Little Makery – Tissue Paper Garland
A joyful little piece bursting with every possible colour! I adore paper decorations, there’s something so special about making something so beautifully festive from delicate tissue paper.
2. Lil Rach Creative – Winter Sunsets Flower Print
This print has a lovely combination of iconic West Australian scenery with geometric shapes. I really like Rachel’s work, it’s very unusual and makes use of beautiful local photography and clever geometric layering in a very distinctive way.
3. Gill Cordiner – Heart Studs
These are so much fun and look good enough to eat, bursting with complimentary colours! They’re all hand cut and enamelled and look like such a beautiful collection of colour together. Gill’s work is so individual and I know how much energy goes into creating these tiny colourful pieces of art work, which makes them all the more special
4. Fluid Ink – Release the Houndstooth
The hounds tooth print reminds me of the light refraction in a kaleidoscope, and it is of course on paper. I also know how detailed Davina’s letter press work is and how involved it is to have so many colours in the palette, which make it a particularly lovely piece.
And her Craft Party partner in crime – Davina’s favourites:
1. Tickle The Imagination Magazine – Issue #19
Tickle The Imagination Magazine is run by a very talented lady. The magazine is always bursting with colour and goodness and manages to be so kind and helpful to all who read it.
2. Kooee Papercraft – 3D Quokka
This is uniquely Western Australian – you can’t go wrong!
3. Little Mo and Friends – Colouring In Book
Happiness is colouring in, this entire book was illustrated by the talented Helena!
4. Ali J Artist – Fox Mask DIY
Did I mention happiness is colouring in? Even more when it’s in a mask (and then making it!)
Next, we have favourites from our Craft Party host in Sydney – Bea of Things by Bea celebrating some of the wonderful Sydney sellers. “To me kaleidoscope: Paper taking shape is all about colours, geometric patterns and FUN!” – Bea.
1. Akisiew – Paper Cut Out Gift Card Set
There’s only one thing nicer than making something for a crafty friend – giving a crafty friend something to craft themselves! These greeting cards by artist Akisiew contain a cut out DIY Paper Fox and Paper Girl.
2. Kyrality – Polymer Clay Necklace with geometric Spring Palette
This polymer necklace is like wearing a kaleidoscope; sure to add simple, understated fun to any outfit.
3. Zoe Loves Ava – Wall hanging
Recently I took a course with the fabulous weaver Natalie Miller and it’s really made me appreciate how much love and work goes into the colourful textural wall hangings by Zoe Loves Ava. This listing in particular fills me with such summery joy.
4. Chaos Club – Geometric Fruit Garland
So much juicy geometric color from this fabulous paper-based creator. I’m sure her watermelon straws would also make any drink a hundred times more delicious.
