Based in New Zealand, Jax Sutton is the founder of the blog Paper & Lace, which she has dedicated to helping brides create their ultimate stress-free weddings. With a range of regular programming that includes irresistibly romantic real love stories, awesome advice for planning the big day, and styled shoots that will knock your socks off, it’s easy to see Jax’s passion for all things bridal.

While I do thoroughly enjoy a cruisy crafternoon, I am admittedly a little lazy (and impatient) when it comes to DIY projects. So when it comes to getting creative with your wedding decor, I am the first to recommend that you work smarter, not harder (because we all know how much of a sneaky time gobbler a wedding can be). Today, I give you three easy peasy ways to DIY your wedding with Etsy.

PRINT IT!

Digital goodies are a fantastic way to get the look you want without paying for postage. Of course you will need to print out the pretties, but with so many affordable online print companies, it’s no biggie if your printer still parties like it’s 1999! Check out your local print companies or head online.

Ideas to print…

Save The Dates / Invitations / Menus / Table Numbers / Thank You Tags / Welcome Signs / Seating Plan / Seating Cards / Guest Book Signs / Social Media Signs / Wedding Programme / Gift Table Signs / Photobooth Signs / Bachelorette Invitations / Mad Libs / Bridesmaid Cards / Envelope Liners / Kids Activity Placemats

Print it
1. Wedding Sign from The Party Tree Studio 2. Welcome Sign from Couture Press 3. Spring Woodland Wedding Invitation from 3 Eggs Design 4. Wreath Table Numbers from The Fabled Papery 5. Favor Tags from White Willow Paper 6. Food & Drink Signs from The Party Tree Studio

STAMP IT!

Stamping is still totally fun as an adult, so why not make your mark in a personalised way with a little DIY design! Stamping fabric or hessian with a sweet design can add serious wow factor to your wedding decor, and using customised stamps for stationery can save you loads in printer ink (and nasty crafters RSI).

Ideas to stamp…

Return Address / Save The Date / Favour Bags / Favour Tags / Napkins / Paper or Fabric Table Runners / Thank You Cards / Wax Envelope Seals / Cookies

Stamp it
1. Thank You Stamp from Upon A Time Paperie 2. Custom Calligraphy Address Stamp from Lemontree Calligraphy 3. Alphabet Stamp Set from Natural Wooden Box Co. 4. Pineapple Stamp from Upon A Time Paperie 5. Custom Wax Seal from Insignia Stationery 6. Double Arrow Stamp from I AM Wandering

HANG IT!

Think outside of the box when it comes to creating unique DIY wedding decor. Table cloths or curtains can double as ceremony or photobooth backdrops, write guest names on large helium balloons and tie them to their chairs doubling as a cool take home favours,  and lighting that can be used around the venue can come home with you to decorate your outdoor space after the wedding!

Ideas to hang…

Garlands / Wall Hangings / Pom Poms / Fairy Lights / Curtains / Personalised Fabric / Direction Signs / Chair Signs / Social Media Signs / Balloons / Word Balloons / Tablecloths / Silk Flowers / Beads / Bunting / Paper Shapes / Plants / Mobiles / Ribbon

Hang it
1. Himmeli Brass Ornament + Modern Macramé Mobile Hanging from Knotty Bloom 2. Vintage Bunting from Merry Go Round HANDMADE 3. Wooden Beads from FINDERMAKERSHOP  4. Rosegold Love Balloon from Light & Co 5. White Macrame Plant Hanger from Knotty Bloom
