Etsy is an amazing place of opportunity. It’s an ecosystem where independent designers, makers and artists can connect with thoughtful consumers around the world to share their stories, their products and their inspiration. It is also a place where creatives can communicate their messages for social change, build awareness of important issues and contribute their skills with great passion.

We are incredibly proud of all our unique, diverse and supportive sellers that collectively share a powerful message – to make a difference by creating products with purpose and heart.

Through a love of creativity, art and social good, our Etsy community can connect on a more universal and human level, where our everyday shopping makes a positive and tangible impact in the lives of others.

We would like to feature some of the social enterprises and individuals in our community that help connect us to important issues and give us the opportunity to be a part of the journey by donating all or part of the proceeds from product sales towards building their mission.

In the afterglo is inspired by gratitude, appreciation and a love for creating ‘home’. This project first began during a search for the perfect wedding favour and soon became a business that helps support a special cause close to their heart. As a proud supporter of Diabetes Australia, 15% of the proceeds of every candle sold is donated to the foundation. Their logo has also been inspired by bright colours from jelly beans, a lifesaver to many who suffer from autoimmune conditions.

The candles are made using pure soy wax, free from chemicals and provided in jars for easy reusing. They are also hand-poured with love in the country home of its maker.

Banice Bazaar is a social enterprise that works to change the world – one creative piece of work at a time. Each item instills the belief that we all have a responsibility to help those in need and that we can!

Banice Bazaar have partnered with World Vision and contribute $6 from every purchase to help those in need around the world through their projects.

Their beautiful necklace and earrings are handmade using polymer clay and designed with the addition of gold leaf, for an unpolished and rustic finish.

Soap With Hope is an initiative to help endangered or threatened animals and protect the habitats they they live in. Created by a passionate veterinarian nurse and soap maker, Soap with Hope combines a love for animals with an appreciation for natural, sustainable ingredients that are environmentally friendly.

These nourishing soaps are made from plant based oils, free from harsh chemicals and detergent and very importantly, palm oil free. A dollar from every gift pack sold will go towards a charity dedicated to to helping and preserving the lives of animals.

This initiative helps reminds us to be aware of our impact on the earth and what we simply flush down our drains. Check out their beautiful scents and the amazing projects they support!

For the individual that loves their notes, lists and mind mapping –  this is for you!  Words with Heart is a stationary social enterprise that funds education projects for women and girls in developing countries. They partner with charities such as Care and One Girl to provide school scholarships, small business and financial literacy training and more.

They are also environmentally conscious using 100% recycled paper, vegetable based inks solar power and printing chemical-free, resulting in less energy, less waste and less water!

Their stationary products works to foster empowerment and equality, as well as fund education days for women and girls. Their goal is to fund 500,000 education days by the end of 2016.

Stationary need some refreshing? Lets help support them to make it happen this year!

For the awesome sellers that support such important causes, as well as our growing community of talented creatives, innovators, movers and shakers that are changing the way we do business – we celebrate all of you.

I love how through Etsy we are able to do this! I opened my store Inspired By Amelia last year to raise money for our friend's daughter Amelia who had been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. Since then I have started raising money for The Kids' Cancer Project based in Australia and donate 20% from every sale to them.

What a gorgeous collection of goods! Ruthie from The Silver Forge does an excellent job of raising money for different causes by donating a percentage of sales each month :)

I love this idea.! Soap With heart really hits a place in my heart with their initiative to help animals. I source all my vintage wool blankets from thrift stores, and the majority from the RSPCA thrift store, which supports vulnerable animals. I then make dog bed covers from the blankets. I will think seriously about donating some money from my sales to help some vulnerable Aussie dogs.

This is wonderful! I have just launched my beeswax candles on Etsy and have been considering what organisation I want Honey Joy to donate to. Hope to have it sorted and details on the HoneyJoyWax shop in the next week or so!
